For 1000JPY, you get a draft beer and 30 minutes of Japanese girls in ninja outfits teaching you things about ninja history…okay mostly simple games and them doing really cute stuff.
In Japan, there’s a lot of niche shops and services to appeal to a spectrum of people. I skipped most things but couldn’t resist getting my ears cleaned at a maid cafe. Well, it wasn’t necessarily a cafe…more like an uncomfortable office space with cubicles. (more…)
The only place that serves green tea beer is at 1899 Ochanomizu in Tokyo. It tastes very bitter along the lines of a concentrated green tea and an IPA. Served as a half pint, I struggled to finish this due to the bitterness.
The fluffiest pancakes in the world are in Japan. The journey was tough (almost impossible), but after 3 trips to Japan this year, I was able to get them.

The place seemed very new since everything was in pristine condition. This was probably the nicest capsule hotel (if that’s even the right term) that I’ve ever stayed in.
During Mt. Fuji Hiking Season (summer), buses run throughout the day from the Tokyo Station JR Express Bus Terminal. You can purchase a ticket from Tokyo to Fujinomiya (cities around Mt. Fuji) for 2570JPY.
