Hotels and even hostels are very expensive in Iceland. If you’re staying in Reykjavik, that’s a 40-minute drive to the airport. And if you have an early flight, it’s even more challenging. Many people choose to sleep at Iceland KEF airport and it’s not a problem.
Let’s be honest here, fried chicken is delicious. When done correctly, the crispy texture of the outside skin combined with the juicy meat is a symphony of balance. Especially with Colonel’s herbs and spices, I enjoy trying KFC when traveling. A lot of other travelers have McDonald’s as their go-to, but I like fried chicken.
After arriving in Iceland from Los Angeles, I had 19-hours to kill before arriving continuing to Dublin. The plan: Rent-a-car, hangout in the Blue Lagoon, eat at Habibi, sleep in the car and then go to the airport. Most of that plan failed.
If you’re licensed in the US to drive a vehicle, you can drive in Iceland without any additional paperwork. It seems crazy but you can. Even if you have no idea what the street signs mean and and how “roundabouts” work, you can legally drive a car in Iceland.
