Update 2019: Wow Air is no longer in service. Wow! This flight was budget. I got a one-way ticket from Los Angeles to Dublin (with a 19 hour layover in Iceland) for $330. That price included seat selection (7A window seat), priority boarding and a carry-on bag.
If you’re planning on taking public transportation in Okinawa, be prepared to not have your IC cards from Tokyo work. Okinawa has its own system and limited lines.

You can take public transit into Tokyo from Haneda airport for around 800JPY with a few transfers. But in my experience, transiting through Tokyo with luggage is an unnecessary world of anxiety. For 1230JPY, you can get on the Tokyo Haneda Airport Limousine Bus and go directly to most destinations within Tokyo.

In Chiang Mai, Thailand, Uber rides cost between $1-2. That was amazing. The ride to the airport was a flat rate of 150THB (about $4.25USD). It’s very difficult to walk on the street there because the sidewalks are small and run down. Crossing the street is an adventure too. There’s a lot of traffic.
