I arrived in LHR’s Terminal 5 from my LAX flight at 16:00. My connecting flight was out of Terminal 3 and departing at 19:35. This would leave me with ample lounge time…or so I thought.

After arriving in LHR from LAX in Terminal 5, I followed all the connecting flights signs that led me to my next destination Helsinki which was departing from Terminal 3. The walk to the terminal was 30 minutes. I also walk very fast so I’m guessing it was 1.5 to 2 miles. This was very surprising since typically there would be a shuttle or tram that would take people such a distance. I then spent 20 minutes going through security. The line there wasn’t too long, but I did have my stuff investigated. My contact lens solution was confiscated and my liquids were “repackaged” with LHR security bags. It was inconvenient, but this is the world we live in now to ensure our safety. At least that’s what I have to tell myself.
After that long walk, I was tired and happy to arrive at the British Airways Galleries Club Lounge (AKA: BA Biz Lounge).
The lounge had an excellent selection of beverages but very limited food. I was pretty hungry so had some chips and “snack sized” sandwiches.
The lounge was pretty crowded when I was there, but it did have an excellent view for plane spotting.
