Just around the corner from my capsule hotel, there happened to be an arcade bar! The owner is very cool and personable. He’s an American from Maryland and decided to go to Japan to open an arcade bar. Crazy, right? Continue reading “Space Station Arcade Bar in Osaka”
On every trip to Japan I’ve been on, I always block out a few hours to go to Round One Stadium. Round One is a fun center chain throughout Japan and the Stadium version has the most activities. Continue reading “Round One Stadium Osaka – Fun at it’s finest”
I’m a big fan of comedy and adventure. Something lighthearted. I get anxiety and stress overthinking things in horror movies. I also startle easily especially while I have a beverage in hand. Watching a scary movie or going to a haunted house is way out of my comfort zone. I avoid those situations at all costs. But somehow we ended up at this horror/prison themed bar. I’m all about new experiences and trying something different. BUT, I also don’t like going too far to a location that would inconvenience me. As I was looking for things to do in Osaka on TripAdvisor that was near the hotel I was staying at (Best Western Fino Shinsaibashi Osaka), I found an Owl Café: Happy Owl Cafe Chouette. It only had one review at the time and it was close enough to check out. Continue reading “Osaka Owl Café – It’s a hoot!”
I booked an actual hotel for the next night after the capsule hotel but in Japan it’s RARE to have early check-in. I got up early and was checked out of the capsule hotel by 07:00. From Osaka, it’s only an hour train ride to Kyoto. Continue reading “Kyoto Day Trip From Osaka”
The “bow game” wasn’t as good at the Grand Sauna Shinsaibashi as it was at the Intercontinental. That’s probably because there was a 30x price difference per night.
I walked over from the Intercontinental to Osaka Station at 13:00 to get a ticket for 14:00 train. There was some difficulty getting a ticket in the office since the attendant’s English was not that good (but my Japanese is worse) so I had trouble understanding him. I understood enough that there was a train arriving at 14:15 so I had time to go get food. Continue reading “How To Take A Failed Journey to Kinosaki Onsen”
While in Chiang Mai, Thailand, it wasn’t too difficult to get by without a phone. As I was walking around the mall, I found a cell phone carrier store called CAT. Out of curiosity, I walked in and asked about what plans they had. A tourist plan was available that included 14 days of unlimited data, text and phone for 120THB! That’s $3.80USD. Continue reading “Getting a Thai SIM Card”
1/15 I arrived at Kansai International Airport (KIX) at 06:30. I arrived at the Intercontinental Osaka at 9am. If you know where you’re going, the trip should only take about an hour. Continue reading “Getting to the Intercontinental Osaka from KIX”
Their bow game is out of control! 45’s all day! 45 is the degree of the bow, a very respectful amount. Staying at the suite there is a life I’d like to live, but even getting to live it one day was an amazing experience.
