Tallinn Tour: Hiking in an Abandoned Prison

I was in Tallinn for 4 days and 2 of those were rainy days.  On one of the clear days, I decided to get out of town and go on a tour. After a quick search on TripAdvisor, I decided to book:

Day Trip to the Coastal Cliffs and Soviet Paldiski from Tallinn

For $55USD, I was in a small group of 5 people (including the guide) and taken throughout several parts of Estonia.  Each will have their own post.

The abandoned prison was pretty cool.  Check the gallery below:

To get into the prison, you need to contact the security guard and schedule a tour…or you can sneak in.  A lot of people sneak in and the security guards don’t mind.  This seemed strange but I saw several families hiking  through the prison.

If kids can do this, and the dude in my tour group who was wearing sandals could too, I could hike this!  That’s what I told myself when I didn’t feel like hiking up because it looked tough.

Hiking up here was very tough!  Mostly because the dirt was very loose so there wasn’t any stable ground for this steep hike.  I made it to the top after 20 minutes and it was completely worth it for the view.  Only 2/5 of my tour group hiked to the top (me and the dude in sandals) so I tried to hike up as fast as I could so the group wouldn’t have to wait long.
