While in Okinawa, I was craving some spicy food. I searched Google, TripAdvisor and Yelp. Not too many results/reviews for restaurants, so I decided to take a chance on a place nearby that served Taiwanese Stir Noodles: Mahoroba. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was.

Before having to return my rental car in Okinawa, I had to fill the tank with gas. Using a Japanese gas station was very quick and efficient especially since it was a full service station.
After getting in the driver’s seat in another country, I realized I should have done some research prior to that moment. It is very frustrating and difficult to drive the opposite way when switching from driving on the right side of the road to the left.
While in Okinawa, the public transportation isn’t going to be as good as it is in Tokyo. A lot of the island is not connected by any public transportation. Being able to rent a car in Japan is essential if you’re going outside the city of Naha.
If you’re planning on taking public transportation in Okinawa, be prepared to not have your IC cards from Tokyo work. Okinawa has its own system and limited lines.
