It’s my 9th day working at a restaurant and I’m very tired of it. I think It’s mostly cause it’s boring. Anytime I’m learning something new and interesting time passes by quickly. If it’s boring, time stands still.
Day 8 and I’m the cashier again today. I’d gladly do this than washing dishes. It’s probably the easiest job at the restaurant but I’m getting further from my goals of becoming a cook.
Another day washing dishes and another day of traffic. Pain is a good motivator. The way I get through it is by challenging myself with how much I can endure…I know I’m making it sound really bad, it’s more like I’m just very inconvenienced.
It’s my 6th day at Marugame Udon and today I’ll be working the cash register. We seem to be deviating from the “learn to cook” plan.
Sometimes you call in sick from work because you’re sick. Sometimes you call in sick because you arrived at work and realized you forgot your uniform. They get mad at people who forget their work uniform and empathize with those who are sick, so the logical answer is to call in sick.

On Day 4, I have to talk to strangers. Very weird to be on the other side of a food transaction.
Day 3 started with an optimistic attitude. Ready to learn and to cook. That optimism quickly faded away.
